About My Clients
I specialize in working with neuro-divergent (ADHD and Autism), BPD, and improving adult parent/adult child estrangement. I am adept at also working with a host of other issues as well, including addiction (process or chemical), relationship issues (single and couple), life transitions, career guidance and trauma processing. I work hard to cultivate a judgment free and pro-communication space, where healing and growth can flourish! One cannot grow without judgment free communication.
My Background and Approach
Learning, growing and improving is something that should be a lifelong endeavor. If you are reading this, then clearly you are looking for help in this journey we know as life. Everything I do as a counselor revolves around helping people learn, grow and improve themselves – whether this means overcoming trauma experienced, recent life changes, or just looking to better understand how you operate as a person, my goal is for you to be able to walk away from working with me saying, “I am a better version of myself than I was a year ago”. I often use Cognitive behavior therapy to help people better control their emotions through their thoughts, but also utilize other therapy elements as well to help cultivate the best version of yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Most of my energy outside of work is taken up with raising my 4 kids with my wife - plus two dogs and three Guinea Pigs and surviving our neuro-spicy household! I frequently juggle sports and activities, and coach two separate elementary soccer teams. I am a firm believer in two principles: judgment does not help people learn and grow, and that people are inherently good overall, and want to be good. We are not religious, but are open to all religions so long as they follow the tenants of being loving, caring and supportive for its members and non members alike. I am also a big supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, even though i am not personally a member of it. I count myself an ally, and have worked with many members of that community. Overall i strive to create a judgment free space while working with clients. You are welcome to ask me other questions about myself in our first session, the worst answer you will get is "I'm not comfortable answering that".
