About My Clients

Have you have lost the spark in your relationship? Are struggling through conflict and strain? Are being impacted by childhood trauma and attachment concerns? Possibly you are hoping to strengthen an already strong relationship? We all bring our unique selves, our pasts, and family histories into each relationship. It can be challenging to find balance and harmony with so many different factors interacting with each other. Using a collaborative approach, I can help clear the pathway forward.

My Background and Approach

I have a license in marriage and family therapy, and a master's in marriage, couples, and family therapy through Lewis and Clark College. During graduate school, I specialized in sex therapy and utilize this to inform my work with intimate relationships. My postgraduate work focused on working with couples, families, and individuals as they navigated through life and mental health concerns. The majority of my practice has been spent helping clients heal from complex trauma, with special attention to the ways in which this trauma impacts relationships. I have had the privilege of working with the transgender/non-binary community providing affirmative care for transgender youth and their families. I do not hold tight to one particular model due to the complexity and uniqueness that each client brings to the therapy experience. However, tend to pull from narrative, structural, strategic, and emotion-focused therapy approaches.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy. I maintain the deepest appreciation and hope for my clients. Life can be hard, lonely, and overwhelming, and having someone who is simply there to listen without bias and judgement can be instrumental in the healing process. I believe that each therapist should engage in their own intensive therapy to explore their personal biases and judgements in order to be aware of how these may be entering the therapy space. I maintain a social justice framework and am constantly learning and growing in my awareness and understanding. I am a strong ally for all communities who have been and continue to experience oppression and marginalization. I believe in grassroots organizing and feel that the only way that we can impact change is to stand as a solid community against hate and violence. I believe that Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one of the best shows, ever, and often use this show to provide examples during sessions. :)
