Together we’ll focus on helping you get quality sleep, clear your head of negative self-talk, and figure out who told you you don’t measure up; in other words, learn where this huge need to be everything to everyone came from so we can pull it out by its roots. And then the fun part begins–learning to do nice things for yourself, finding your joy, shaking resentments, learning to enjoy saying “no,” and living the life you want for yourself. My Background and Approach
My approach begins with alleviating any acute distress you may be feeling. Once you get sleep, reduce anxiety, and lift depression, you'll be able to move forward in addressing deeper issues. I work with clients to understand their life story and how that has created patterns that are no longer useful. In identifying patterns and reactions together, you'll have the awareness and insight to make changes. Usually underneath the acute symptoms are feelings of overwhelm and confusion about direction, purpose, or roles. With the clarity you now have, you can consciously decide how you want to go forward. I want you to believe in yourself so that you can stop self-judgment and trust yourself and your decisions. With this, you'll have the confidence to make changes like setting boundaries, leaving toxic environments, and saying yes to self-care. You'll see your energy return and enjoy engaging in activities that are fun and nurturing. You'll be convinced that you deserve your best life.
Why I am a Good Fit for You
I may be a good fit for you if you want to work with a professional woman and military spouse who understands first hand what it's like to feel burned out, overwhelmed from overdoing, and desperate for a more balanced way of life. It takes work, the ability to be honest with yourself, and a willingness for change. If you're ready to put in the effort, I want to work with you and help you shift out of feeling anxious, depressed, stressed, and overwhelmed because there is a better way--I know from personal experience and clinical training. If you're curious to understand how you got here so you don't slip back into feeling so awful again, we will work together to identify how your experiences and patterns played a part and will also give you tools you can use today to start on the road to relief. Give yourself the time and attention you give to others. There is no reason to suffer when solutions are available. Therapy is one of several avenues towards peace, and it is an effective one.
