About My Clients
Navigating modern adulthood can be complicated and stressful. I specialize in helping folks in their 20s and 30s heal from trauma, anxiety, insecure attachment, difficult life transitions, and relationship challenges, with particular expertise in working with survivors of sexual assault and emotional abuse. My approach is feminist, queer-affirming, and sex-positive. We'll work together to identify patterns, build upon strengths, and enrich your sense of self.
My Background and Approach
I am trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), a somatic mind-body approach that helps you to access the internal "parts" of yourself in order to shift patterns that are no longer serving you, build inner trust, and heal deep emotional wounds, leading to increased clarity, confidence, and harmony in your relationship with yourself and others. If you are an expert at intellectualizing your problems but find it hard to connect to your body and deeper emotions, I can help you to build inner awareness and balance while understanding the root of your patterns from an attachment lens. My style is warm, open, and compassionate, and I provide a safe, collaborative space that nurtures the therapeutic relationship and promotes empowerment and inner growth. I work well with people in creative and alternative fields, and folks in helping professions. Please reach out to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, my work acknowledges larger systems (racism, patriarchy, capitalism) that impact mental health and I bring this into our work together. I am passionate about de-stigmatizing therapy and pushing against systems that pathologize mental health. I am committed to providing deeply affirming care that actively acknowledges and explores the impact of systemic oppression on marginalized communities. Prior to opening my private practice, I worked for 4 years in community mental health, where I provided individual and group psychotherapy, crisis-intervention, and suicide-prevention services to youth and adults experiencing homelessness, chronic medical issues, and co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions. I also worked in the re-entry field, providing trauma-focused individual psychotherapy to folks transitioning out of prison.
