About Our Clients
Most of our therapy clients are high achieving teens and college students who struggle to hold it all together. They often come to us seeking strategies to overcome anxiety and stress, harsh critical thoughts, perfectionism, overthinking and rumination, obsessive thoughts, and self-doubt. Our practice mission is focused on helping our clients gain genuine happiness, find more purpose and life fulfillment, improve confidence, and deepen meaningful relationships.
Our Approach to Helping
We specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), two gold-standard treatments for adolescents. Our clients learn skills and strategies that they can immediately incorporate in their lives. We often focus on the science of genuine happiness, new ways of responding to big emotions, how to take the power out of anxiety, and how to break free from self-criticism and self-hate. Our psychologists have advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i), and help teens as well as parents of young children create healthy sleep routines and improve their sleep. We have extensive training in parent/teens issues. If you’re a parent of a teen feeling lost in the sea of conflicting parenting information about what to do to actually help, we are here for you. Our teen psychologists are passionate about helping parents better understand their child's behavior and enjoy parenting.
Our Values as Mental Health Practitioners
At Tampa Pediatric Psychology, we hold a modern view of mental health treatment: one that is non-judgmental, relatable, humorous, and most importantly, goal directed. We are firm believers in the healing powers of knowledge, and you will often find us sharing bits of neuroscience and evidence-based information in our sessions aimed at helping our clients discover meaningful solutions to their problems.
