About My Clients

Do you have trouble understanding what you’re feeling, or why you’re feeling it? Maybe you often ask “does that make sense?”, unsure whether your thoughts are coming across how you want them to. Or you find that you're really hard on yourself, with a running narrative of “I’m the worst!”. Perhaps you’re scared to get things wrong, and feel unable to trust yourself to know what you want, let alone how to get there. If you relate to this and want to feel less anxious and more at ease, I can help!

My Background and Approach

I love to work with clients from an integrative approach, often bringing in EMDR, ego state/parts work (like Internal Family Systems), narrative therapy, and more, working to support people in building and using self-knowledge to find wellness and balance. I believe that different areas of wellness are connected, and that our wellness is deeply connected to our contexts—our relationships, families, communities, and cultures. I work with clients to collaboratively identify goals, recognize strengths, navigate barriers, and seek growth and health, drawing from a variety of evidence-based techniques and bringing empathy, humor, warmth, and curiosity to the therapeutic relationship. I work from a place of deep respect for clients and the process of therapy, having experienced the power of this work as a client and a clinician.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I affirm the beautiful diversity of humanity. I am an LGBTQ community member, an intersectional feminist, and believe in collective liberation. This influences my practice how I see my role--as a collaborator and supporter rather than to be the expert who tells people how they should live or gives advice. I have witnessed that change is most powerful when it comes from within--so I bring my expertise and knowledge of tools that might best support people, along with the humility to be curious about and open to each client's unique expertise and goals. In practice this looks like working collaboratively to set goals for therapy, asking questions about what is and isn't working best for clients, and prioritizing the safety of my clients in the pacing of our work together.
