Accepting Clients

I work with clients who feel "stuck" in their thoughts, feelings or decisions, or who feel like parts of their life just don't fit together.

About My Clients

When life challenges us, difficulties can come from every angle: we can struggle with our work, family, relationships, friendships, and even our culture, history, and identity. Therapy can help us untangle this complexity, and find a path towards healing, meaning, and fulfillment. Everyone's path in life is different, so I work hard to maintain a safe and inclusive environment in the therapy room. Note that I also offer therapy in Persian/Farsi.

My Background and Approach

My approach to therapy is focused on getting to know you and your story, and using our time together to explore the depths of your inner world. From there, we can rediscover, reclaim, and reprioritize parts of yourself that can lead to greater healing and peace in your life. I have lived many lives beyond the therapy room, and I truly believe that helps me connect with many different clients. Prior to receiving my Master’s in Social Work from California State University Northridge, I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Science in Migration Studies from the University of Oxford. My years of experience working outside of the mental health space are a great resource I draw on when I work with my clients, as it brings further depth to my understanding of life, family, career, meaning, and purpose. My education and experiences allow me to intimately engage with many cultures and worldviews.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

It is a priority for me to offer a safe and brave space to folks of many different backgrounds. I know that is easier said than done, so for me that creating a safe space is an active process. I believe in soliciting feedback from my clients and having open dialogue over how they feel in the therapy space. My approach is trauma-informed, meaning I will bring you into conversations regarding how you feel about the therapy as we work together. I have had the immense privilege of working with clients who identify with different cultures, diaspora groups, identities under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella, and people who identify with specific subcultures. I humbly accept we cannot be experts in everyone’s lived experience, so when my knowledge of lived experience is limited, I welcome the opportunity to work collaboratively with my clients to make sure they are benefitting from therapy. Ultimately, therapy needs to be working for you and getting you closer to your mental health goals.
