About My Clients

Are you looking for help with job stress, relationship conflicts, anxiety, depression, substance use, grief/loss, and/or trauma? Or maybe you're looking to learn more about yourself and who you are. If this sounds like you, I would be honored to join you on your journey of growth, self-discovery, and empowerment. Together, we will work to accomplish your therapeutic goals while gaining a better understanding of who you are and how you relate to the world around you.

My Background and Approach

I am a graduate from Northwestern University with a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Throughout my education and experience, I have had many opportunities to work with a wide range of late adolescents and adults. My passion lies in building a safe and collaborative space where we can work together to overcome life’s obstacles. I am passionate about working with members from all communities - including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals. I take a social justice approach to my work, while utilizing a variety of techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a Person-Centered Positive approach, incorporation of mind/body connection, meditation, and creating healthy life balance. Together, we will collaborate to identify what work best for you. I prioritize genuineness and authenticity in my sessions to provide you with the best support for your specific issues - whether that is a space to listen or concrete coping skills to take with you outside of session

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am an Asian-American, heterosexual, cis-gendered female who is acutely aware of how my various identities shape myself, my relationships, and my experiences. It is important to me to recognize that while I am oppressed in many ways, both as a POC and a female in a male-dominated society, I am also privileged as a heterosexual woman who has never had to worry about being discriminated against for my choice of partner or desire to marry. I aim to integrate social justice practices into my work as a therapist through acknowledgement of the many identities that make up my clients. Rather than taking a "I don't see color" approach, I acknowledge that oppression and discrimination still exists - not only towards BIPOC, but other marginalized communities as well. The impact that this has on my clients matters. Together, we will work to piece apart your various identities and the impact they have had in shaping you, your identity, your experiences, and your relationships.
