Whether it is a career change, moving to a new place, divorce or any of the number of life changes that occur, it can leave us feeling out of sorts and vulnerable. Using a solution focused, attachment oriented approach I provide clients with a welcoming space to process emotions associated with life changes and transitions.

I offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for treatment of PTSD and trauma exposure. After its development over 30 years ago, EMDR Therapy has become one of the most recommended and researched psychotherapeutic treatments of trauma. Knowing that the therapeutic trust and relationship is the most important aspect of the therapy process, I like to intertwine EMDR with more client centered approaches of active listening and exploration of trauma account.

It has been my goal to provide a welcoming, non-judgmental holding space for clients who identify within the LGBTQIA+ community. I think an important aspect of that is the acknowledgment that I will never "know everything or be fully trained" so I always approach each client as in individual and with respectful curiosity.

Carl Rogers, the founder of Person Centered psychotherapy believed that the most important aspect of the therapeutic process was the relationship between the client and the therapist. I hold this belief as well and have found that the best outcomes are arrived when a person feels heard, understood and supported in their process for working on difficult problems and finding meaning. Without this, other therapy models are just tasks.

I am trained in EMDR, having completed training from an EMDRIA approved training site. EMDR helps address trauma, PTSD, grief, abuse, depression, stress, and anxiety. Together we will work through any experiences that elicit uncomfortable or painful memories, so that they may be reprocessed in a much more healthy and complete manner - without re-traumatizing yourself.

Consensual non monogamous relationships are growing every year and having a therapist who is versed and trained in this relationship structure is so valuable for people looking to enter polyamory in an informed manner, or to address issues that may arise in poly relationships. Knowing that you can come to therapy to address open relationship dynamics from a supportive, welcoming stance is the empowering experience many clients need.
