About My Clients
Living in a world that often tells you you don't have the right to exist as you are can be exhausting. You may feel constantly misunderstood, disregarded, or as though you just can't get ahead no matter how hard you try. You might want healthier relationships with others but have no idea what that means or how to create one. If you feel as though you never got the handbook on "how to human," or have spent your life trying to fit into a predetermined mold that just doesn't fit, I can help.
My Background and Approach
I practice psychoanalytic psychotherapy from a relational perspective. My focus in our therapeutic relationship will be on the dynamics that play out between us, and how those may be informed by past experiences in your life. I work from an affirmative and trauma-informed lens, meaning I know how to usher you through major life transitions whether or not you're questioning your gender or sexuality or dealing with complex relational trauma. I hold a Master's in Clinical Psychology and work in a private practice setting with an in-person office and remote availability. I receive weekly supervision and training from a licensed psychologist and psychoanalyst who works primarily with the trans and gender non-conforming community.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a clinician, I believe that love is love and that everyone has the right to love and be loved as they are, for who they are. I practice therapy from a social justice framework that acknowledges the inherent power dynamics of having a cisgender, White therapist in a field that has historically been used to oppress and marginalize anyone who doesn't fit into the White, Christian, heteronormative, ableist, and patriarchal society we live in.
