About My Clients
I have particular passion for serving those with complex body relationships, who want to understand their ADHD or autism better, who crave support as they deconstruct their spiritual histories, who are frustrated by vague therapy answers, who fear they are "too much" or "too different". Overall, those who want to find the beauty in the darkness rather than denying the darkness, and who want to sit crooked and talk straight.
My Background and Approach
I have 12 years of experience serving those with eating disorders and concurrent concerns at levels of care from residential to partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient, and have developed a particular enthusiasm for serving those who struggle with body image and trauma whose stories are overlooked--those in Fat, racially oppressed, disabled, neurodivergent, and genderqueer bodies seeking safety in the same bodies that hold their traumas. I approach therapy from a feminist and person-centered foundation and integrate tools from narrative and Gestalt therapy, EMDR and mindfulness, and DBT, CBT, and ACT. In the room, I often use humor, storytelling/fandom, metaphor, and somatic experiencing to deepen insights and love to integrate the special interests of my clients as well!
Social Justice Issues I Care About
As a therapist with white and cisgender privilege and lived experience through late-realized queerness, invisible disability, Fatness and neurodivergence, I am devoted to continuing my education of the unique lived experiences of those with differing intersections of privilege and oppression. I have particular passion for Fat-positivity, sex-positivity, racial justice, disability justice, queer joy, and neurodivergent affirmation!
