About My Clients
I have always been impressed with my clients’ abilities to address and overcome life’s challenges, often using skills they didn’t even know they had. It is so gratifying to see people become the best versions of themselves. A specific area of interest is helping those to improve their interpersonal relationships, whether they be with family, coworkers, or others. I want our sessions to be a supportive and safe place where you can be your genuine self without fear of judgement.
My Background and Approach
Clients describe me as empathetic, compassionate, nonjudgmental, and supportive. I am genuinely caring and invested in your wellbeing. I'll work with you to challenge thoughts and behaviors that no longer serve you in your life and provide resources and tools to navigate challenges and achieve your goals. Together, we will work to understand where you've been and where you want to go. We will help you get to a place where there is less self-doubt and judgment and more compassion. I specialize in working with people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and difficulties managing emotions. Together we will explore your past and create meaning for the current circumstances that feel out of your control. I want to tailor your goals to you as the individual not to the expectations of others. I'll ask detailed questions but you'll lead. I value your input and encourage questions and feedback to ensure therapy is as effective as possible for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. I think the main reason we develop mental health issues is because they are unhealthy learned behaviors that we have picked up along the way. Which means that I think you can unlearn the faulty behaviors and replace them with healthy ones. The tools that I'll provide you with are tools that I have been perfecting over my career helping people just like you. We'll work collaboratively to address the symptoms that are bothering you right now. We'll start with what's going on in the moment and how to get control over your body and thoughts. We'll address what's going on in your brain when you experience symptoms and how to get in touch with different parts of your brain to find relief. We'll discuss what happens to your body when symptoms take over so you can learn how to quickly calm down. You'll gain resilience so that attacks don't continue in the future.
