About My Clients
You feel as though you are constantly under a microscope and everyone is judging. You're overly concerned with others' evaluation of you. You have been told not to be "so sensitive". It is almost impossible for you to be free from worry an just be in the moment. I can help you discover your strengths and embrace your true self. It helps to have someone outside your circle available to listen to your unique perspective. I want to help you explore ways to stop perfectionism and over-thinking.
My Background and Approach
When we meet, I don’t see a problem. I see you and I want to know you, because every person has unique influences and experiences that inform who they are. You are not anxiety. You are not a disorder. I believe everyone has the ability to tap into their inner strengths and resources in order to make and adapt to changes. I offer a safe place to learn and practice new ways of handling stress or difficult life circumstances. I want to help you to achieve your goals. After almost twenty years of working in technology sales, sales training and management positions for Fortune 500 companies, I left corporate life to become a licensed mental health counselor. I especially enjoy working with other therapists and helping professionals manage compassion fatigue, burnout, and other occupational hazards. In a addition to being a counselor, I am a funny, compassionate, positive energy source – A coach, wife, friend, sister, daughter, yogi and parent to my rescue hound, Gouda.

When a client chooses to work with me, I value the connection we have and that connection serves as the basis for our collaboration. My method is grounded in empathy and specified to your unique needs, preferences, and situations. My style is compassionate, collaborative strength-based, active and engaging. I take an approach embracing a positive and wholehearted view of all gender and sexual identities and relationships. I treat all clients and their families with dignity, respect and the affirmation they deserve. I may challenge some assumptions and perceptions. I may propose different ways of looking at, thinking about, or managing situations that make you feel upset, challenged or disappointed. It is also likely that we will experience joy and laughter in our time together. You are not a problem to solve. You are influenced by your experiences and social contexts in which you grew up. Often these influences result in the formation of personal strengths!
