About My Clients
As a therapist, my passion lies in helping children, adolescents, and adults develop the skills and strategies they need to lead fulfilling and rewarding lives. I especially enjoy working with clients transitioning back into their homes and communities after hospitalization or longer-term care for psychiatric stabilization. My clients often describe me as warm, relatable, and nonjudgmental, and I’m here to support you as we navigate even the toughest topics together.
My Background and Approach
I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). DBT is a cognitive-based therapy that helps clients address behaviors contributing to ongoing crisis and improving your ability to set and achieve goals for a more peaceful and fulfilling life. EMDR offers a holistic approach to understanding and reorienting relationships to past negative events. In our sessions, the focus will be on enhancing your coping skills and developing personalized strategies to reduce daily distress. Together, we will explore any nagging negative thoughts affecting your relationships and overall satisfaction. I am here to support you as you reflect on past experiences, including the aspects of yourself and your relationships you may be avoiding. Our work will center on healing your relationship with yourself, and helping you reconnect with what brings you joy in life!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have extensive training in both cognitive and holistic therapy approaches, which I believe work together to foster healing and growth. These combined methods help clients build a solid foundation of skills and knowledge, allowing them to move beyond crisis mode and effectively address past trauma. My mission is to provide a safe and empathetic space where we can make meaningful progress toward implementing new skills and achieving lasting improvement. Clients often describe me as warm, nonjudgmental, relatable, and willing to tackle even the toughest topics. I believe these qualities are essential for nurturing strong and successful therapeutic relationships.
