About My Clients
I work with couples to develop good communication, enhance intimacy, and work through issues that are preventing them from moving forward in their relationship. It can be easy to be stuck in patterns that don't work, especially if there is history involved. My passion is also working with people who are pregnant, trying to conceive, postpartum, or struggling with infertility and miscarriages. Anxiety and depression can often go hand in hand with these issues along with some disordered eating.
My Background and Approach
I have an extensive history working with teens and young adults in a group home, agency, and private practice setting. I currently work with adults focusing on solutions to symptoms and targeting behaviors by creating achievable goals. I have been in practice since 2006 and have enjoyed working collaboratively with clients and have taken a person-centered approach so that clients can feel better faster. I recognize that therapy can be expensive, both financially and with the amount of time you are spending feeling better (or time lost due to anxiety and depression) and so by focusing on symptoms and working on solutions in a strength-based approach we can get you back to being a participant in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe there is room for everybody in therapy. There is room for growth and change and for you to figure out how you want to show up in your life. I believe you can have the relationship you want and if that means you need to work on yourself, then give me a call. If that means you and your partner need support, I can help with that too. And if that means its time to leave the relationship you are in, then lets make a plan. Life is too short to settle into a pattern, relationship, and life that is harmful to you and those around you. You have the capacity for change (even if you feel the most stuck you have ever felt) and relationships can absolutely be adjusted. Eating patterns can be disrupted by looking at our core beliefs and healthy patterns can take place. Chances are you are being too hard on yourself, too judgemental, and that is something we can work on together.
