My Personal Beliefs and Interests
There are four things that are important to me as a therapist: empowerment, collaboration, client expertise, and nonjudgmental listening. I am going to create a safe space for you to tell me what you need at your pace. I am interested in making sure you have tools outside the session to face the challenges you are trying to resolve while in session. I want to empower you to face them. Collaboration is important to me because there are two experts in the room. I want to meet your goals and be on the same page. I’ll ask for feedback all along the way, making sure I understand who you are are what you want out of therapy. Client expertise is crucial to therapy. I don’t make any assumptions about your life or have a box I’m waiting to fit you in. I need you to tell me what’s true for you and we can go from there. While in session I execute nonjudgmental listening. I only listen with curiosity and wonder.
