I am currently a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have substantial training in identifying and understanding relational and family dynamics. Helping those who struggle with connection and/or intimacy--whether it's a couple, LGBTQ relationships, parent-child relationships, or multigenerational relationships--I have the training to help my clients work through and achieve their goals for their relationships.

Anxiety, trauma, attachment struggles, and so many other issues result in separation within ourselves. Neuroscience-informed therapy counseling helps the client understand the connections between the brain, the body, and the spirit. Both Mindfulness and NIPT are counseling techniques that I am trained in that will help the person I work with reconnect these fundamental connections within as we learn how to rebuild, attach and heal.

I have extensive training in both CBT, DBT and Trauma-focused CBT and am a Certified Trauma Professional Counselor. I have worked with trauma survivors and their families over the past 20 + years.

As a PhD student in marriage and family therapy, I am consistently learning new, cutting edge techniques from the master's in the field. Some of the master clinicians I have worked with are Dr. Linda Metcalf (Narrative and Solution Focused Therapy), Dr. Meichenbaum (the father of CBT), Dr. David Keith (Symbolic Experiential Family Therapy), Elliot Connie (Solution Focused Brief Therapy) and Dr. Travis Heath (Narrative therapy).

LGBTQ issues are personal as I have a child who is trans & LGBTQ and a child who identifies as ACE. I work hard to provide safety, both within my home and my counseling environment. As a PhD student, I am currently developing research to help the Religious family systems transition into an affirming, accepting family system with the goal for families to understand that they do NOT have to pick between their faith and their LGBTQ children.

In our world, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and unseen. Together, you and I will quickly get to the root of the issue and develop ways to not just cope, but learn how to move through when anxiety strikes.

Solution-focused narrative therapy is a modality that believes that you, the client, know your strengths and resilience. You've just lost sight of them and have become saturated in a problem-focused narrative or story. Often we begin to feel that we are the problem! However, with SFNT, we will help you put on a new pair of glasses that will not only address the issues but help you derive a new story that focuses on your strengths and your ability to cope and thrive.
