Are you feeling overwhelmed and burned out? Having a hard time managing all your responsibilities? Sometimes you can give so much to others that you lose space for yourself. Parenting, relationship issues, past trauma, and life transitions are some of the many stressors that can contribute to feelings of overwhelm. Therapy can be a safe space for you to sort through your feelings and help you find new tools to enhance your coping so you can get back to feeling like yourself.
My Background and Approach
I use a variety of treatment approaches to best meet your particular needs, including ACT, EMDR, and CBT. Through these tools we can work to reduce distress associated with painful emotions while also increasing your ability to cope effectively when they show up. Unfortunately, pain is inevitable, but it is compounded when we rely on coping skills that move us away from what really matters to us. Together, we can identify what's important to you and help you move toward your goals. I have been practicing for 9 years and have speciality training in working with perinatal mental health as well as individuals struggling with fertility challenges. I am also skilled in treating anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe focusing on small, manageable changes and having a greater understanding of why you do what you do can be the catalyst for the changes you wish to see. I provide a warm, trusting environment where you can share without fear of judgment. I like to use humour and realism to keep things relatable.
