About My Clients
Shame. Guilt. Anxiety. Depression. These are some of the most common issues and also the ones that are the most difficult to talk about and work through. They can be hurdles we have to overcome to reach our goals in life. Much of these issues surround the topic of sex, whether that be sexual orientation, gender identity, relationship dynamics, or religious experiences. My aim is to challenge stigmas and normalize sexual communication to manage all those negative thoughts and feelings.
My Background and Approach
My approach is to see where you are and where you want to go and challenge some of the thinking that may get you stuck. I have a lot of personal and professional experience with depression and anxiety, and I appreciate and celebrate the diversity that is the human race. I am a certified sex therapist with experience working in such areas as kink and polyamory among other sexual concerns. I am versed in many different theoretical approaches to therapy, but I do not necessarily ascribe to any one in particular. Different things work for different people. We are not a one size fits all species, so treatment is certainly tailored to you. My hope is to help you live your most authentic self without (or with as little as possible) shame and doubt and be able to fully enjoy and appreciate your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a big believer that there is not another single person on this planet with the same combination of DNA, family history, and past experiences as you, therefore, what you feel and experience is real and normal. You are not crazy! I believe everyone has the ability to grow and adapt to new circumstances and experiences in their lives and everyone has the ability to change if that is what they want. I am an advocate and member of the LGBTQIA+ community and provide inclusivity and competency trainings in this area for other therapists so they can better serve the community as well.
