About My Clients
I typically work with children, teens, adults and families. I work with children and teens on issues such as anxiety, stress management, navigating family roles, identity and relationship concerns. I work with adults on employment/career concerns, relational difficulties, family of origin issues, complex trauma, anxiety and panic attacks. I work with my client's to help them increase their self-confidence, navigate stressful life events and build healthy, supportive relationships with others.
My Background and Approach
I've been working with youth, adults and families for over a decade and use Attachment Theory in my approach. I have the most experience helping people increase the quality and quantity of their relationships, navigate relationship challenges (boundaries, attunement, etc.) and build confidence. I use DBT and art therapy to help my clients learn basic skills to express themselves and identify what is most important to them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every person is unique. I think that as people we can have similar experiences but no two people are exactly the same. I won't be able to understand exactly what it' s like for you to be you. But I can help you understand yourself better. I believe autonomy and consent are necessary to produce lasting change. Generally speaking, I won't make people do anything they don't want to, unless they are at risk of seriously harming themselves or others. This applies to children and teens as well as adults. I am trans and active in the LGBTQ community. I respect people's identities, pronouns and rights to make informed decisions about their health.
