Accepting Clients

Hi! My name is Ming, and I am a neurodivergent therapist based out of Los Angeles, California. I am a trauma and ADHD specialist.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California

About My Clients

My niche is in working with survivors of narcissistic abuse and emotional manipulation. My clients are often people who want something in their lives to change, but usually are not certain what the best next steps may be. The people I work with are ready to collaborate with me to increase the quality of their relationships and their life outcomes. The clients I work with are stable enough to benefit from weekly individual therapy.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who began the first half of his clinical career working for the LA County Department of Mental Health in the Skid Row area of Downtown Los Angeles. The latter half of my career has been in the private practice space (group, then corporate, now independent). I am a sex-positive neurodiversity-affirming provider who utilizes a direct, culturally sensitive, non-judgmental, warm, validating, accepting, and supportive interpersonal style. In addition to trauma, I also have lived experience with Autism and ADHD, and I enjoy working with adults who are learning to navigate living as neurodivergent people. I can offer therapy in English or Korean. I am conversational, but cannot offer therapy to monolingual speakers of Spanish and Japanese.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

While I am ethnically Chinese and I emigrated to the U.S. from Singapore, I was raised in a Mexican family and I identify strongly with Mexican culture as well. As an immigrant to the United States who survived poverty and homelessness, I believe strongly in the importance of addressing the systems of institutional racism & systemic poverty that exist in our current society. I acknowledge racial trauma & the consistent traumatization which often results due to living as an ethnic minority in the U.S.. I identify as a homosexual, and have been out of the closet and living my life proudly as a gay man since the late 90s. I survived both Catholicism and Christianity, dabbled in Buddhism, and now I identify as Atheist. Being raised by a single mother, I have a very strong feminist perspective, and have disdain for misogyny. In my personal time, my interests involve cooking, video games, beauty and fashion, spending time with friends, family, and my cats.
