About My Clients
Client's seeking treatment find that their symptoms relate to addiction, cultural identity, developmental issues, family dynamics, and cognitive affective limitations. Typically, at the epicenter of these issues is regarding information processes within interpersonal dynamics online and offline. Dependent on the frequency, intensity and duration of individual symptoms, clients find strength within cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and narrative-based treatment.
My Background and Approach
For the past 6 years, I have been trained to utilize CBT, ABA, mindfulness-based practices, motivational interviewing, and person-centered therapy to prove optimal care for past and current clients. Specializations also include treating individuals with behavioral addictions such as internet use, gambling, pornography, online spending, and gaming addiction.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Attending your first counseling session may heighten symptoms of anxiety, but also portrays resilience and hopefulness. From the start to the end of session each session, the primary focus for me are the clients' needs rather than imposing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors for my own interests. Within my time in training, I have learned that client symptoms have specific concepts such as cognitive-behavioral indicators that relate present issues. Also, a holistic approach using the client's multicultural identity lead to deeper rooted issues that provide context. Specializations such as social media use, internet use, and gaming use provide insight within the layers of a client's multicultural identity, which is not widely viewed within psychotherapy. As a part of my studies within doctoral research, these specializations are my primary focus toward understanding the post-modern mind as a whole.
