About My Clients
Between and within humans, multiple perspectives exist, and what is discovered depends on how observing happens. This understanding has led to my intense compassion for human suffering, and delight in the unique paths forged. It is possible to ultimately drop attachments contributing to suffering, in order to experience the innately loving conscious beings we are. Here the focus is less on "right and wrong" and more on the wise discernment of what ACTUALLY contributes to suffering.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been working in the field for 20 years. My license has afforded me the opportunity to work with a variety of clients in an array of settings. I have worked with couples, families and individuals in private practice settings, as a therapist at a drug treatment center for youth, as a the lead clinician in an inpatient program for people who identified as female struggling with dual diagnosis, and as the Clinical Director of a transitional housing program for women leaving prostitution and escaping sex trafficking. My current private practice is my love and joy and is driven by a belief that if anyone had been through what you had been through, they would be exactly where you are. I also believe in equifinality; the idea that there are multiple paths to the same destination. I use approaches that work for the client, so I have developed competency in talk therapies, body-based work, art therapy, movement, mindfulness and play therapy.
