Accepting Clients

Hey, there! I'm Cheyenne, a trauma-focused multicultural therapist that works with people towards culturally-responsive healing and living.

Clinical Social Worker in Aurora, CO

About My Clients

Many people I work with typically find themselves in a place on their path where they feel stuck. Whether they’re experiencing facets of historical and/or intergenerational trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, relational struggle, identity obstacles, and more, I find many people struggle to access the strengths they innately possess to move through life’s challenges. Many internal AND external factors contribute to the disempowerment of self, who we can more fully recover, together.

My Background and Approach

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, graduated from the DU Graduate School of Social Work, Four Corners Program, Summa Cum Laude. I care deeply about merging my passions for social justice and psychosomatic healing. How oppressive systems can affect our mental health over time and through generations can become a major barrier in our wellness. Integrating our adversities and strengths can lead to the empowerment of ourselves to find fulfillment in confidence, decision-making, and relationship. Utilizing evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I have worked with individuals across the lifespan from children experiencing grief and loss, college students struggling with depression, anxiety, and more, to caregiving for the aging population with neurological developmental disorders. My tailored client-centered approach has lent to creating meaningful therapeutic relationships that instill hope and healing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

With a deep personal and professional understanding of social work, social justice, social change, and historical trauma, I align myself in support of the acknowledgement and healing of all Indigenous Peoples, the Black Lives Matter Movement and Black / African American folks as well as many multicultural minoritized individuals and communities experiencing racialized trauma and injustice, as well as the LGBTQIA+ communities continuing to fight every day for equity across systems. I have a well-rounded perspective on spirituality, and challenge myself to do continued allyship work within myself and my practice to show up for the intersections of my clients with a mindfulness around impact, action, and honoring the innate dignity of the whole person.
