About My Clients
When our whole being is overwhelmed and struggling to cope, we develop patterns such as anxiety, eating disorders, chronic stress and more. You are not alone and are deeply cared for in this space. I am here as your anchor, support, refuge, or guide, and will honor our relationship by leading with genuine compassion. I specialize supporting BIPOC, second-gen immigrants, LGBTQIA+ individuals, folks who experience eating disorders, Intimate Partner Violence, and chronic pain/illness.
My Background and Approach
I use an integrative approach that centers Decolonized and Liberatory frameworks which informs my understanding and application of social and health related fields such as sociology, anthropology, psychobiology, neuroscience, nutrition and more. I gravitate towards therapeutic practices that flexible to include multidimensional frameworks, rather than ones that are prescriptive. Some common orientations I include are: Interpersonal Neurobiology (the interdisciplinary science of healing and relationships), Narrative Therapy (the impact of our stories), Liberation Psychology (the impact of oppression), Buddhist Psychology (philosophy and practices. As a result, I am able to provide a thoughtful and socially conscious process that nurtures deep healing. Some of our time might be spent discovering nuanced understanding, awareness, and integration of challenging emotions and experiences, while other times we might explore down-to-earth practices to support your process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I feel deeply passionate about supporting those around me in their healing journey because as a South Asian woman, queer, chronically in pain (and many more identities) individual, healing is both personal and political. Healing is also found in many other spaces beyond the professionalization of therapy. I find healing in nature, with my animal companions, gardening, yoga, and reading poetry.
