About My Clients

Your anxiety is through the roof and you can’t stomach being in your own skin. This isn't how you envisioned life would be. Ashamed and insecure, you conceal that reality behind the lie of your smile. You ruminate about everything and never feel good enough. A master of hiding and avoiding, you're exhausted from trying and long for real connection. You're embarrassed to even look for help but you know you can't go on like this forever.

My Background and Approach

You deserve to live the life you want and I use research-based interventions to help you get there. I’m a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) and have training from Oxford University in enhanced CBT for eating disorders. I’m trained in CBT for anxiety and phobias from the Beck Institute. I offer virtual reality exposure therapy for anxiety/phobias, EDs, and more. I have worked on several publications, including original research on laxative abuse, and am President of the Denver International Assn of ED Professionals (IAEDP). I’m a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) who helps victims of infidelity and narcissistic abuse, esp in high conflict divorce. I’ve worked at multiple universities, the ACUTE Center of Eating Disorders/UC Anschutz Medical School, Avalon Hills Residential ED Treatment Center, and with diverse adults, teens, children, families, and couples. My emphasis in grad school was multicultural psychology and I founded the Higher Education Diversity Summit.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I help people who’ve learned that they aren’t worthy and feel uncomfortable in their skin overcome seemingly insurmountable fear, self-doubt, perfectionism, and insecurity. A former version of me gets the place that you’re in, combing through a sea of therapists and trying to find someone who you connect with and who can actually help. That former version recovered from an eating disorder what feels like a lifetime ago but will never forget what it’s like to hide and avoid. My experiences inspired me to become a psychologist so that I could find really effective research-based interventions that help people change. Your experience is unique to you and I tailor what I do so that it’s specific to your situation and strengths. I’m passionate about helping people rid themselves of head trash, eliminate debilitating anxiety, get unstuck from unhealthy habits, and heal from trauma caused by toxic relationships, such as infidelity and narcissistic abuse.
