About My Clients
My clients come from far & wide, but what they all have in common is that despite their fears, they work towards connection, growth & presence. I am a queer inclusive and trauma focused therapist who specializes in holding space for individuals wanting to break patterns of fear and learn self compassion. I specialize in serving individuals healing from trauma, LGBTQIA+ folks, & anyone ready to make real, sustainable changes in their life.
My Background and Approach
My approach to working with individuals is to start with presence. I tailor treatment to each client and provide holistic, interdisciplinary, person-centered therapy. My mission is to cultivate self-compassion, understanding, hope & positive change. I focus on depression, anxiety, mood regulation, grief, trauma, relationships, and queer identities. I hope to cultivate change rooted in self acceptance and understanding. I am motivated by my own and my family's experiences of transformation and abundance after hardship. I believe that we heal in connection with self. I use NARM (the NeuroAffective Relational Model), Somatic Approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness in my work with clients. I also offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) both virtually and in home in Chicago. I am non-pathologizing; I see my clients as whole beings, not diagnoses. I find that tailoring an interdisciplinary approach for each person is supportive in their recovery.
My Values as a Therapist
My work is based on integrity, connection & a profound respect for the human condition. I believe that we all have the capacity for growth, recovery and aliveness. I value intersectionality, diversity, and identity. I understand that my work as a healer requires a commitment to nurturing collective care and building spaces where we can explore the impact of oppression together. I believe that All Black Lives Matter. I am an active member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and this informs me both personally and professionally. I identify as non-binary and queer and I advocate for equity within the LGBTQ community and any marginalized group. I see systems of injustice in our world as barriers that create the illusion of separation in our communities. I work on macro, mezzo, and micro levels to address systemic inequity. I am in the process of decolonizing my approach to mental health and investing in care worker collectives, like the Kintsugi Therapist Collective.
