About My Clients
In a world inherently full of scarcity, violence, unpredictability, and a lack of meaningful inclusion, many bodyminds develop dis-stress, dys-regulation, dis-ease, and other adaptive trauma responses. My clients have threat-sensitive nervous systems and are seeking to reconnect with their authentic self and rebuild their sense of empowerment. Many are burnt out, may have experienced harm in the past by traditional mental health models, and are seeking an alternative approach to healing.
My Background and Approach
My work is rooted in culturally sensitive, trauma-assumed, neurodiversity-affirming, and non-pathologizing abolitionist perspectives. My clients and I work together as equal partners, prioritizing their lived experience and self-determination, to advocate for meaningful inclusion within their social contexts and experiment with new somatic, movement, emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and social strategies to replace disempowering Stress Response System patterns with more empowering ones. Together, we will unlearn harmful value and belief systems, such as internalized ableism and productivity/urgency culture, and learn how to activate social safety in our nervous systems using somatic strategies rooted in relational neuroscience. I follow an intergenerational care model, supporting all levels of the family system, to maximize client outcomes. I provide fully-virtual services to clients aged 15+ years old.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an artist, creator, musician, gamer, Adult Third Culture Kid, dynamically disabled, feminist, survivor, absurdist, dog/cat-mom, travel and outdoor enthusiast, neurodivergent Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I volunteer with IPV advocacy organizations and am passionate about teen dating violence prevention and neurodiversity-affirming Social Emotional Learning in schools. I support individuals with whom I share lived experiences, and partner with members of communities that frequently experience suffocated or disenfranchised grief: neurodivergent teens and adults (and their caregivers), survivors of violence, and chronically ill individuals. I believe abundance and predictability foster wellness and embodied safety. I encourage my clients to reattune to their authentic selves and inner wisdom using Radical Openness, or openness to change and commitment to reframing unwanted or distressing bodily sensations, emotions, or thoughts as opportunities for growth and learning.
