About My Clients
Being a human is hard work. It’s okay to feel stuck, overwhelmed by your emotions and unsure of where to start. Through active and empathetic listening, I strive to meet you where you are on your journey and create a safe, affirming environment. I work with individuals and couples with a particular focus on life transitions & career navigation, anxiety & stress management, relationships & intimacy, and perinatal mental health.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is grounded in collaboration and connection. I believe that talking through life’s inevitable challenges can allow for a better relationship with ourselves and those around us, leading to more satisfying life experiences. I draw from a variety of therapeutic influences including person-centered, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral and narrative approaches to meet your unique needs. Before beginning my counseling psychology training, I spent a decade working in the corporate world (both in the arts and tech). My formative career experiences contributed to my interest in mental health and motivated my career transition to becoming a therapist. I earned an Ed.M. in Mental Health Counseling and M.A. in Counseling Psychology and from Teachers College, Columbia University.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in every individual’s capacity for continuous growth and self-discovery. Ultimately, you will determine where you want to go in therapy, and I will be there to support and guide you. I’ve found that the deepest and most powerful work in therapy happens only after a trusting relationship has been established between a therapist and client(s). As a first step, I recommend reaching out to set up a free consultation call. In this call we’ll briefly discuss your therapy goals and what you can expect in a therapy session with me. This is a great opportunity for you to assess fit, and ask any questions you may have about working with me.
