About My Clients

If you're feeling overwhelmed by constant unease, oppressive sadness, or bad experiences, know healing is possible, and you don't have to face it alone. Through compassionate support, cognitive strategies, and body-based practices, we'll work toward inner strength and resilience. I specialize in leveraging the psychological benefits of physical activity, but you don't need any experience with exercise. I also work with the unique challenges faced by athletes at all levels.

My Background and Approach

Using a whole-person approach, I tailor sessions to each client using the principles of CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness, and exercise. We'll explore your thought patterns to weed out sticking points, cultivate mindfulness for clarity and insight into your experience, confront fears so they are no longer obstacles, and harness the power of movement to reclaim control, build strength, and find peace. I have developed my expertise over 20 years as a coach, 6 years of experience as a clinical researcher studying PTSD, and education in philosophy, psychology, and clinical social work.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone has the potential to change, grow, and thrive in their own way, and I aim to help make that possible for all people. Sometimes we adapt to survive difficult circumstances, but those adaptations don't serve us any longer. Other times we may find that we've exhausted our resources and need to recharge or learn new skills. There are so many ways we can find ourselves in need of assistance that social pressures teach us are unacceptable, even when they are unavoidable and natural parts of the human experience. My experience as an athlete taught me that I can adapt and overcome obstacles and hardships, my experience as a coach taught me that everyone else can too, and my experience working with PTSD and other mental health patients has taught me that even the worst catastrophes can be overcome. I oppose oppression and work for the liberation for all people.
