About My Clients
I specialize in working with adolescents and parents , as well as individuals. I value developing strong relationships and connections with clients who require a safe place to explore a variety of goals and ways to manage and overcome often painful challenges. I strive to help adolescents, parents, and guardians make progress as individuals and together. Let's remove road blocks! I also work with specific challenges that are present for LGBTQIA folks and people with disabilities.
My Background and Approach
I value developing strong relationships and connections with clients who require a safe place to explore a variety of goals and ways to manage and overcome often painful challenges. Challenges truly can be opportunities, they offer information to help us grow and change. When people are in pain I know how important it is to have a safe place to find ways to heal, to feel and to function better. I can help you find sustainable, sensible solutions that makes sense to you. In my practice, you can expect to be understood without judgment, treated with respect, kindness, a sense of humor, and compassion.Life transitions at any age can be challenging. Transitions also provide opportunities for growth. I work collaboratively and respectfully with clients to discover tools to help you find and reach your goals as soon as possible. Therapy can and should be a place to explore who you are, what your goals might be, find acceptance, challenging emotions, relationships and more.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My approach is based on individual needs. The most important part of my work as an integrative psychotherapist is creating a trusting and authentic connection with my clients. I use a combination of therapeutic techniques to help you arrive at your goals. My working style stems from the belief that therapy should be a place where folks can explore their strengths, be treated with respect, focus on shifting behavioral patterns by using tools including CBT, DBT and mindfulness. It's possible to work hard and have a sense of humor as well. Before becoming a therapist, I was a high school teacher, life coach, and I started a holistic tutoring and advocacy center. In direct individual coaching, I have guided teachers, students and families to develop sustainable systems for academic success through an understanding of mindfulness and neuroplasticity. As a mom, I understand how difficult it can be to connect with your kids and find a balanced life. Contact me via my website, or message
