My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Much of Claudia's early work was in community mental health and social justice. Claudia provided counseling services and interventions to victims of family violence and served as a trauma clinician for children in foster care. Claudia also completed The New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care Foundations Program, where she offered spiritual care and counsel for the sick, dying and their families. With the Gender & Family Project, Claudia facilitated support groups for parents and caregivers of trans and gender non-conforming children and adolescents. She is a faculty member at the Ackerman Institute, committed to giving back to the social work profession, and to upholding the promise and vital contributions of therapists of color.
