We look forward to helping you through to the other side.
My Background and Approach
Breyta employs only doctoral-level psychologists to ensure high-caliber clinical experiences for our clients. We know that our clients’ experience and success in therapy is directly related to our staffs’ expertise. The person sitting across from you matters. Our psychologists take their specializations very seriously and devote a considerable amount of time and effort to advancing their knowledge and abilities through continuing education and professional development; staying at the forefront of clinical science and practice. Breyta psychologists provide a process-based model of evidence-based care. We focus on processes of change that lead to desired outcomes. We pay attention to signs and symptoms but aren't preoccupied with them. We want to help you live better, not just feel better; creating lasting change that you can trust. We integrate heart with science and know that just because we have a hammer, not everything is a nail. We tailor our treatments to meet your specific goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We practice trauma-informed care. Often if you work with a provider who does not have the necessary expertise in trauma and PTSD, common post-traumatic behaviors can be unfairly pathologized and met with the question “what’s wrong with you?”. Trauma-informed care providers are able to ask the very important question of “what happened to you?”. This changes the whole dynamic of how you relate to yourself and your problems. Everyone will experience something that they deem to be hugely impactful in their life. For many, this is an emotional or physical trauma. Trauma-informed care is important, even if you don’t have PTSD. We provide you with motivation and skills needed to successfully navigate life changes. We are LGBTQ+ allies and a safe space.
