About My Clients
My clients are leaders and high-level professionals. Smart, successful and strong, they often start therapy after something happens in life taking them off their usual course of success and achievement. They initially feel stressed, overwhelmed, exhausted and scared–sometimes caught in a negative cycle of worry, fear, and fatigue. Yet by using the same focus and work ethic that helps them in life in therapy, my clients make steady progress towards regaining a sense of identity AND peace of mind.
My Background and Approach
I approach therapy from a place of believing we are good and whole – but that somehow, something has gotten in the way of us experiencing that. I also know we all benefit from support, guidance, and having someone kind and objective to talk to from time to time, no matter how privileged we may be. Buddhism calls that concept "Basic Goodness." I got my BA from Naropa University, where diversity, mindfulness, and personal integrity are cornerstones of the education. I hold those values dear in my therapy work! My master's degree is in Transpersonal Psychology, which means "beyond the person." So we'll examine societal and historical impact and influences on your mental health, in addition to exploring your personal psychology and experience. Now over ten years into my therapy experience, I describe my approach as: Solution Focused, Attachment-Based, Trauma Informed Therapy. -We'll begin with the end in mind -Get to the root of matters -Honor your safety and well-being, always.
